About this trip

We’re Headed to The Scottish Highlands!

Ever wanted to write and explore the magical Highlands of Scotland?

Nestled in the wild, wind-swept Crieff, Return to the Wild’s Myth & Magic Writing Retreat offers a focused but adventurous week for writers at every stage. We’ll write together, make magic together, and frolic the highlands like we’re a family of hobbits on their next adventure (minus the Mount Doom Part. Think Fairies and Witches and maybe even some friendly ghosts!)

Whether you’ve published 10 books or you’ve yet to put pen to paper for your first, there’s a space for you here!

Are you ready for an unforgettable fantasy-filled adventure of storytelling, folklore, Samhain celebrations, camaraderie, and delicious food?

Focused on the myth and folklore of the area, this unique writing retreat holds magic like none other.

Halloween in the Highlands, anyone?

What Our Storytellers Are Saying

“Choosing Return to the Wild wasn’t only the right decision for my writing, but it was also the right decision for me. I never thought I’d come away with so much confidence!” - Anonymous Wildflower

“Fresh air. Wide open fields. My favourite support group of smart, strong woman is a wonderful magical elixir that has helped my heart.” - Christi

“The missing piece was trust in myself. I arrived feeling drained by work and full of doubt about whether I had it in me to share the story of my heart with the world. Now, I am leaving with a new rod of confidence in my power to be a storyteller. " - Lin L.

About your organizer

My name’s Marina and I’m the founder and CEO of Write Wild Co. and Return to the Wild. I'm also an associate agent at P.S. Literary Agency where I represent fiction. I’m also a previous Big 5 editor and bookseller.

Books and story have always been my passion. Ever since I first began to grasp the basics of spelling—very roughly, let’s be honest—I’d conjure stories onto paper like an incantation, weaving narratives that transported me to different realms. During my childhood, I’d often vividly reenacted my favourite stories with my stuffed animals, adding lots of drama and, frankly, more satisfying endings.

When I’m not immersing myself in books and words and magical worlds (or planning my our writing retreat), you can find me with a cup of tea in hand, trying a new yoga asana—never at the same time—or practicing Armenian, the language of my ancestors.
